Week of Nov. 16 - 20
All Classes:
Welcome to Art Exploration!
This term may not look the same as Term 1. Please feel free to scroll back and see what amazing art was created last term. Your class experiences and art projects will not necessarily be the same. Your suggestions for projects in the first week will be strongly considered as I'd really love to try and make your experience special for your class!
Please remember to bring your newly created Sketchbook (made last week in class), pencil, pencil crayons, scissors, glue, and rulers with your every day to class!
Grade 7:
This week we are exploring the "ingredients" or rather, Elements of Art. We will strongly be focusing on line, color, and texture as we begin our first Abstract Art piece together.
Grade 8:
This week we will be re-exploring a topic covered in math earlier this year: Tessellations!
We will be talking about how tessellations can be used as a form of artistic expression and then making our own creations.
Grade 9:
This week we will be starting a sculpture project. Students just completed a unit in math on Surface Area. Based off their new knowledge they will design a 3D letter to either represent themselves, an artist, or someone who influences them.
They will then design and build this out of cardboard, paper mache, and decorative materials of their choice.
We will also be starting to talk about Conceptual Art and beginning a project on Photography Weaving. Full lesson can be found here:
